What do you do when your teenager stays out late and yet you and your husband like to go to bed early? Here's an idea you can try.

Set a special alarm clock near your bedroom for 5 minutes after your child's designated curfew. When your child comes home, they must turn off the alarm clock before it rings. As long as they make it home before the alarm clock goes off, you can rest knowing they are in at the designated time and you are not missing out on your sleep. You are still keeping them accountable without having to wait up for them!

However, if that alarm clock rings (meaning they missed their curfew) you will absolutely know it! You can get up, go downstairs, and be waiting for your child when they walk in. Enforce whatever consequences you have put in place.
